Nikon...

Mon May 7, 2012, 8:50 AM
.... is calling me. I never connected with my Canon camera and partly I dont' think I truly tried.

I honestly and truly wish to just get rid of this one and move along and it's Nikon that's calling me and has been for some time.

Now I'm lazy (so shoot me) and I wanted to know if there's any advice out there from others whom I respect about mid range Nikon camera's. I have been taken by the D80 and yes I know it was superceded by the D90 but some say, not by much and it's a sturdier camera.

Any advice and tips out there on newer camera's as I'm aware that the D80 is rather dated now.

Be great to hear from all of you out there so do pitch in and chat away with me, I welcome any feedback.

Just to say...

Sat Apr 14, 2012, 6:07 AM
... that I know I seem to not be around much these days but I promise, I get on here when i can :)

Professional work is calling me more these days so there is less of my personal projects to upload. Soon my pretties, soon.

Don't forget me :)

Hope you are all well and happy out there.

.... Member on Guild of Erotic Photographer's - am over the moon and highly recommend this place to sell your work.

It's highly credible, the owners are not in this for the money - they are fair to the artist (call it fairtrade if you wish) and wlel, it's just a lovely site.

Here is the link for those interested:

Thanks going out to Xe & Terry.

Thought would share this with you all:

I always check before putting forward DD suggestions that the artist hasn't been inundated with DD's already.

It's nice for others to get a DD and then the attention that this brings rather than the same great artist over and over.

Out with the old?

Wed Dec 14, 2011, 5:33 AM
Looking back through my galleries, I wondered to delete some of my older work, some that I'm not too proud of anymore.

THEN a thought came to me, that maybe some out there like to look at your journey as a photographer and this concept will very much come into my book when publishing 'True Selves'

So, to all the masses (joke), my limited readers - what do you think?

Massive hugs to you all during this festive season also :)

Friend bought me dA membership

Mon Dec 12, 2011, 5:47 AM
I'm so very lucky to have such wonderful friends on here and wish to thank by small way of this journal :icontonepainter: for just buying me for the second year running my renewal to dA.

I wasn't aware it was running out but certainly wouldn't have paid to be here so I'm so happy to be able to use all the features that I had before :)

Thank you from the bottom of my soul - it's gifts such as these that touch my heart :)

You are a true friend :) xxxx

DD's used to mean something

Sun Dec 11, 2011, 7:30 AM
Now they are given away freely to what I consider snap shots or mainly junior cartoon work. I am not putting down cartoon work but come on, what about the other genre's (and their are many)?

Hmmm wanders to 500px where the creativity is to a higher standard.

Love all the friends I have made here though and will retain some presence on dA but mostly to be in contact with friends.

Take care out there and keep on plugging to the masses that artistic nude rocks and deserves more recognition.

Sun Dec 11, 2011, 5:04 AM
the book I have my work published in is now available to purchase and if you order today - a copy will be with you or indeed anybody you buy for in time for Christmas!!

I have bought myself a copy so am waiting in anticipation but have been told how wonderful it is (how very exciting).

Here is the link directly to the source - [link] where you can read which other photographer's have their work included.

What an utterly wonderful eclectic mixture of work this should be.

Enjoy enjoy enjoy and do excuse me if I pimp this around a little for a while - but I'm excited :)

as getting a little tired of some of the work that is being displayed on dA and I need to feed my creative brain a little more these days.

I will be on dA as well as I have many friends on here and enjoy the groups that I belong to.

I may be uploading more work to 500px for a while as the quality of the artwork is absolutely wonderful.

The wonderful group that is :iconderelict-nudes: are about to publish a compilation of different photographers who have enjoyed working in derelict locations.

I'm not sure how many of my images will get published yet but I have submitted about eight of my favouritie photo's (it was tough choosing).

Models include Tidal Kitten, Synthetic Cookie & Alexb244

Here's hoping they get in the final book.

I have just uploaded a random image from this amazing shoot which got left behind (sadly). Enjoy.

I'm back.... well, almost

Mon Nov 7, 2011, 4:16 PM
I haven't been around as have just moved house (huge thanks going out to Mark who was my driver and mover).

I now have, at last, left the Big Smoke that is London.

I get the best of both worlds as I'm only about 45mins away on a train from London (and that's a slow train) so yes, I'm happy and very pleased with my new abode. I have plenty of creative ideas forming about how to best utilise my lounge, bedrooms, garden and surrounding countryside and indeed, stunning locations spotted all around me.

All in all a wonderful move and one I'm hoping to embrace creatively very soon.

In the meantime, enjoy my recent work, shot in two swanky London hotels's with xIvyx

Enjoy and nice to be back.

What did I miss?

Yearning to create..

Thu Aug 4, 2011, 4:35 PM
... at the moment but life is oh so busy right now.

In the middle of house hunting right now and planning on moving out of London so much time seeing future possibilities going on right now.

All the itme, I have ideas looming, places calling my name (no, I'm not mad) and lots of creative concepts flowing.

I had a watcher contact me the other day asking me why I haven't updated my profile of late and was I ok? Very sweet of him to do so, didn't know it would be noticed so very flattering.

Yem & Myself will be working again very soon but she is also in midst of moving house too so I will either wait and/or work with others. Have a dance photoshoot in mind but they are tough to get hold of at times. Will see what comes up for me but know you will get to see the results as always :)

I hope you are all having fun out there. I'm still managing at times to peruse the groups that I watch and friends work of course.

Speak soon, more from em sooner I hope.

Hazy Sunday's

Sun Jul 10, 2011, 4:38 AM
Waking up to lazy hazy Sunday's with a cup of espresso and rye toast with peanut butter is wonderful but I have the urge to create again.

My next collaboration with Yem is going to be a sunset one in a wonderful quiet outdoor location. Now to get those dates in the diary and figure out what to take etc.

Can you believe it, I haven't done a sunset shoot yet!! Anything I should know, any major tips that you could share with me, any sites that would be interesting to read (Simon, come on I know you have them bookmarked, smiles).

So - I will let you all know when the date is set and I'm guaranteed to share the images with you on my website or here (if you are lucky, smiles).

Yem & I are becoming good friends so the collaboration should intensify. Fabulous news for us all really.

Time to update my websites today I feel or should I read the papers in bed, hmm such choice.

Enjoy whatever you do,

50mm f1.8

Sat Jul 2, 2011, 5:45 AM
Today is the only day free this week just for Jan. At present I'm sipping coffee after eating a very late brunch, contemplating gardening when my buzzer goes.

The postman hands me a package, I forget what I have ordered but the title gives it away, it is indeed my new 50mm 1.8 lens. Hmmm  I wonder if the weeding will now be put on hold as I enjoy and explore my new toy?! You know the answer to that I feel.

I warn you in advance that there may be odd images of the garden coming up later, smiles. What? I'm not going out, I'm exhausted and have a full day tomorrow including supporting a friend who needs a Shiatsu so no rest for the wicked or so they say!

What is everybody else up to today?

thoughts on Canon EOS400D?

Tue Jun 21, 2011, 9:13 AM
Hey people, anybody out there got the above camera? I wish to upgrade and this is slightly better than the camera I'm using now.

What appeals to me is well, the price but secondly the noise reduction that my camera isn't very fabulous at working on.

Does anybody out there have this camere, know this camera or a geek that wishes to do all the reading and comparing for me? (well at least I'm honest, smiles).

Jan x

UPDATE - I have now purchased this camera so you will see the reuslts yourslef when I firstt, pay for it,  secondly, collect it an then of course get to grips with it then work with it :)
